Dear Rare Femslash Creator
Dec. 15th, 2025 03:27 pmHello, I’m lostyesterday on AO3. Thank you so much for writing for me! This letter includes my general likes, my DNWs, and some thoughts/prompts for each relationship I’ve requested. Feel free to use or not use the prompts/ideas here in whatever way you want. If you have a different idea unrelated to any of these prompts, please write it – I’m excited to read whatever you create!
General Likes
Ship Likes
- Feelings realization, getting together, established relationship – I enjoy all of these equally
- Friends to lovers, relationships where romantic partners are also best friends with each other
- Rivals/enemies to lovers (especially if it involves a reluctantly built foundation of trust and gradually coming to see the other in a new light)
- Ambiguous relationships where characters aren’t sure how serious their relationship is/how long it will last
- Exes to lovers or exes with lingering feelings
- Messy relationships, arguments, fundamental differences in worldview
- Characters trying to suppress or hide their attraction to other characters
- Banter, jokes, witty exchanges
- Characters solving problems together and combining their skills in useful ways
- Characters doing hobbies together
- Characters having philosophical/moral discussions or arguments
- Characters having deep emotional connections with each other (healthy or codependent)
- Characters being understood in ways they never thought were possible
Other Likes
- Canon divergence AUs
- Worldbuilding (especially regarding fictional cultural practices, politics, etc.)
- Humor, hijinks, characters participating (willingly or unwillingly) in ridiculous shenanigans
- Action/adventure, mission/casefic, other types of plot-heavy stories (especially if canon typical)
- Slice of life, small moments in time
- Hurt/comfort (physical or emotional)
- Time travel, time loops, temporal and spatial distortions – anything where time and space get weird
- Any type of stranded-in-an-enclosed/remote-place story (especially if it forces characters to confront aspects of themselves or their relationship with others)
- Dreams and nightmares, dreamscapes, ambiguity between dreams and reality
- Ambiguous/open endings where things aren’t entirely resolved and characters are left with some uncertainty
- Character studies, introspection, any in-depth look at the inner workings of a particular character
- Exploration of trauma, loneliness, self-hatred, and other painful emotions
- Unusual/experimental formats and styles (for example epistolary or anything nonlinear, first and second person POV are both great too)
DNWs
- Smut/explicit sex (fade-to-black scenes, sex being a centrally important part of relationships, and sex being discussed openly are all very welcome as long as the sex itself isn’t explicitly described)
- Non-canon rape/non-con, strong focus on canon rape/non-con happening during the fic (referenced or as central elements of characters’ canon backstories is fine)
- Pregnancy/childbirth (mentioning canon pregnancy is fine, strong focus on canon pregnancy is fine for Mad Max specifically as long as there’s no graphic description of childbirth)
- Non-canon permanent major character death
- Cheating/infidelity (I’d prefer conflicting canon pairings to have broken up or to have never been together unless otherwise stated, Mad Max specific exception: the wives having illicit relationships with people other than Immortan Joe is not only allowed but extremely encouraged)
- Unrequested non-canon ships
- Non-canon marriage/weddings
- Setting-change AUs such as modern AUs, or AUs that fundamentally impact relationship dynamics such as soulmate or omegaverse AUs (any type of canon divergence AU is completely fine, as are additions of sci-fi/fantasy elements like time travel to canons that don’t already have them)
- Entirely bleak/hopeless endings (as long as there’s a little hope left it’s fine)
Andor
I love stories focused on the Rebellion, each of these characters’ parts in it, and how they relate to each other in relation to it. How does the Rebellion both bring them together and drive them apart? While Cinta’s death is in my DNWs, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be interested in stories with a darker tone. Negative emotions, messy relationships, and traumatic situations are all interesting to me.
Details from the Original Trilogy, the Prequel Trilogy, Rogue One, the Clone Wars, or Rebels are welcome. Details from other parts of Star Wars canon are fine as long as the story doesn’t rely on knowledge of those parts of canon to make sense.
Fandom-Specific DNWs
- Stories taking place after Return of the Jedi/the fall of the empire
- Cinta’s death (please either set stories before her death or write an AU where she lives)
- Pure fluff (joy and tenderness are welcome as long as there’s at least a little acknowledgement of the characters’ trauma and the darkness of the empire)
Specific Prompts
Cinta/Vel: I love the bits of their relationship we got in canon – the tensions and disagreements between them and the way they love each other so much anyway. Their contrasting backstories and the way that informs their different perspectives on the empire and the rebellion and the way this affects their relationship is all very interesting to me. I’d enjoy a wide range of stories for them, from something soft and gentle to something messier and more complicated. If you want to go the messier route, I’d be interested in stories where they break up and meet again as exes who haven’t lost their feelings for each other. If you want to go the softer route, I’d also love a story of them being happy together. Anything set before canon when they first met or about some random mission they’ve been on would be great. Or maybe a story where one of them gets hurt and the other has to take care of them.
Cinta/Kleya, Cinta/Kleya/Vel: There are a lot of different interpretations of these ships I’d be interested in. I’m happy for Kleya/Vel to be involved too as long as Cinta plays an important role in the story. In general, I’m really interested in what Cinta and Kleya’s relationship would be like. They have a lot in common, more than either does with Vel, and I think this could raise some interesting tensions. Maybe Cinta gets together with Kleya after breaking up with Vel. This would be even messier if Vel and Kleya were themselves exes. Really, any combination of these characters being exes/current partners/something weird and nebulous would be super interesting to me. If you’d rather not write something messy, I think Cinta/Kleya could also have a very sweet relationship where they eventually let down their walls and feel deeply understood by each other. And for a less messy take on Cinta/Kleya/Vel, an AU where Cinta survives and Kleya becomes part of Cinta and Vel’s relationship while they’re all on Yavin would be great too.
Mad Max
Furiosa is one of my all-time favorite characters, and I’m also fascinated by the five wives and love any exploration of who they each are and how they see the world. How do they find hope in a horrible world and comfort in each other? How do they disagree with and see the world differently from each other? I’m equally interested in pre- and post-canon explorations of these relationships, and if you have an idea for something during canon or in a canon divergence AU then go for it.
Feel free to include other femslash ships I didn’t request (including poly ships) if you so desire (I like basically any possible femslash ship in Fury Road). Inclusion of any elements from Furiosa (2024) is also great but completely optional – I’m happy to receive fic solely based on Fury Road. I would also prefer if what’s established in the 2015 comic was generally ignored.
Fandom-Specific DNWs
- AUs where Furiosa was one of Immortan Joe’s wives for longer than depicted in Furiosa 2024 (other deviations from what’s established in that movie are fine)
- Pure fluff (joy and tenderness are welcome as long as at least a little of canon’s darkness is captured)
Specific Prompts
Angharad/Toast, Angharad/The Dag, Angharad/Capable, Angharad/Cheedo: I’m grouping these ships together because Angharad was clearly deeply important to all the others, and I think exploring any of these as romantic relationships would be super interesting. I see Angharad as a revolutionary thinker with complex philosophical thoughts on power, violence, and so many other aspects of the world who inspires the others to escape their lives of imprisonment. What does it mean to them to lose her? Stories exploring grief over their lost love are welcome, especially if interspersed with memories of Angharad and their time together. AUs where Angharad survives would be welcome too. It could be interesting if the others believe she died but she in fact survived. If you want to write something pre-canon, anything involving philosophical discussions and disagreements between Angharad and any of the others would be very welcome.
Cheedo/The Dag, The Dag/Toast, Capable/Toast, Capable/Cheedo: As with above, any pre-canon exploration of any of these relationships would be great – stolen moments, whispered secrets in the dark, holding and caring for each other. There’s a lot that’s interesting to explore about each of these characters: the Dag’s fierceness and equally fierce kindness, Toast’s intelligence and competence and quick thinking under pressure, Cheedo’s uncertainty and fear of the unknown with a deep courage lying underneath, Capable’s passionate protection of those she cares about and empathy for the suffering of others. Post-canon exploration of these relationships and how these women react to and help shape a new world would also be great.
Angharad/Furiosa: I see both of these two as rebels and leaders, but in different ways. I think they would disagree with each other a lot – for example, the brief indication in Fury Road that Angharad has a pacifist/non-violent philosophy that might clash with Furiosa’s experience and beliefs about the world. I’d love anything exploring their first meeting, or how their first impressions of each other compare with how they see each other as time goes on. It would be interesting if they were in a secret relationship pre-canon, or if one or both of them harbored feelings for the other but they never got the chance to act on them. Exploration of Furiosa’s reaction to Angharad’s death in either situation would be welcome, as would any AU where Angharad survived.
Furiosa/Toast: I’m interested in this relationship because I see Toast as potentially having the most in common with Furiosa of all the wives. Toast clearly has more experience with guns and cars than the others, and she seems to have a lot of tactical and political knowledge. I’d love any exploration of a relationship between them built on mutual respect and valuing of each other’s skills, even if that respect might take some time to build. I could see Toast becoming Furiosa’s second in command post-canon and the two of them growing closer as they try to make a new Citadel and manage the complicated political situation in the aftermath of Fury Road.
The Murderbot Diaries
I love the Preservation characters and Preservation as a setting in general. Anything that emphasizes the strength of connection and loyalty between these characters is right up my alley, but I’d also be interested in them having more complicated, fraught relationships. I’d love stories exploring their daily lives, deep emotional conversations between them, alternate perspectives on canon events involving them, pre-canon stories, and a lot more.
Fandom-Specific DNWs
- Breaking up Mensah/Farai/Tano (Mensah’s marriage being open or simply not being mentioned is fine)
Specific Prompts
Mensah/Pin-Lee: I love these two individually, and together they make a formidable team. They both project such strength and confidence, and in different ways are good at masking their weaknesses and insecurities. I think this means they have the potential to understand each other really deeply, but also maybe to see things in each other that are uncomfortable to look at up close. Maybe Pin-Lee is attracted to Mensah but Mensah isn’t attracted to her and they both know it. Maybe there is mutual attraction, but it’s not on the same level, and they’re together sometimes anyway with a lot unspoken. Or maybe they really come to love each other and have a long-term relationship. Story idea: the two of them stay up late working on an important case together and something sparks between them.
Bharadwaj/Pin-Lee: I love these two having a casual, flirty relationship. Maybe it stays casual, or maybe they gradually develop deeper and deeper feelings for each other and don’t know what to do about it, not realizing how the other feels. It would also be interesting to see them together in a situation outside of both their areas of expertise. Maybe they’re trapped somewhere alone and have to wait for rescue, and they find themselves growing closer. Anything exploring their pre-canon relationship or their first meeting would also be great.
Arada/Overse: I love their canon relationship and how much they support and deeply care about each other. I also thought it was interesting how Network Effect brought out some points of tension between them – how much they worry about each other and how much they sometimes see things differently. I’d love a story exploring how they first met, an anecdote from their life together pre-canon, or a slice of how they react to all the shocking and traumatic stuff that’s happened to them over the series and how it’s affected their relationship.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
I love how DS9 allowed intricate storylines and complicated webs of relationships between characters to develop over many seasons. Any exploration of alien cultures and how these characters relate to each other in relation to them would be extremely up my alley. I would be very interested in messy, complicated takes on any of these ships, but some of them could absolutely work as positive, fluffy relationships too (although probably not for Kira/Winn). I enjoy both stories exploring moral ambiguity and the emotional toll of war, and silly/light-hearted stories about characters living their daily lives or ending up in ridiculous situations.
Fandom-Specific DNWs
- Any of the following canon relationships currently being together during the fic (as a past relationship is fine): Kira/Odo, Julian/Ezri
Specific Prompts
Kira/Winn: I’m not expecting a happy love story here. I really enjoy the idea of a toxic relationship between them, whether Winn is unrequitedly obsessed with Kira or they’re actually together. It could be interesting to see Winn try to manipulate Kira for political gain, or to explore Kira’s complicated feelings toward Winn as the leader of her religion. Stories ending in a break up or in otherwise strongly negative feelings between them are extremely welcome. Story idea: Winn tries to seduce Kira in an attempt to maneuver herself politically closer to the Emissary, but finds herself developing unintended feelings for Kira.
Cretak/Kira: Their canon relationship is so intriguing. I love how much they genuinely get along and like each other, and their immediate chemistry. How much is Cretak manipulating Kira? How much is her attraction to Kira genuine and how much is political maneuvering? It would be interesting if they actually started a relationship, all while Cretak has her own agenda. I’d be totally open to a fic where Kira feels betrayed and heartbroken and ends their relationship. Alternatively, I’d also be interested in an AU where their political goals aren’t opposed and they meet under better circumstances. I think they’d be a very formidable team if their goals were aligned.
Jadzia/Lenara, Ezri/Lenara: I love tragedy for both these ships, but I’d love a happy ending too. Maybe they meet again (with Dax as either Jadzia or Ezri) and things still don’t work out. Or maybe they’re stranded together somewhere and forced to confront everything between them. What would it mean if Lenara changed her mind and decided to abandon Trill tradition? How might they deal with the consequences? Exploration of their bitterness toward each other built up over many lives would also be interesting. How might Ezri’s relationship with Lenara differ from Jadzia’s?
Ezri/Ziyal: I think these two should meet! Any sort of Ziyal lives AU is always good, or maybe they meet before Ezri is joined with Dax/in an AU where she never joins with Dax. I’d love to see them falling in love or maybe bonding over how messy their family situations are. It would also be interesting if they both felt out of place on DS9 but not with each other. Anything that plays around with both of their issues with their own identities and sense of belonging would be great. For a more plotty idea, I’d love a situation where they can hear each other’s thoughts somehow, forcing them to confront everything between them.
Star Trek: Enterprise
I love how, in the first two seasons of Enterprise, there’s a lot of newness and uncertainty and the crew feel out of their depth, and I think that can be interesting to explore in relationships too. How do aliens from different worlds relate to each other? How do they understand and misunderstand each other? I also really enjoy light-hearted/humorous stories and explorations of characters’ daily lives. I’d equally enjoy something messy and complicated or something sweet and soft.
Specific Prompts
Hoshi/T’Pol: I love their dynamic in season 1 where Hoshi seemed to be the human who understood T’Pol best and T’Pol helped Hoshi with her anxiety. I see them as two characters who have a lot in common but are also different in some important ways, and because of the way they are, have difficulty admitting to and accepting true connection with other people. I enjoy interpretations of their relationship that are a bit messy or ambiguous. Maybe they’re sleeping together as an “experiment” in alien relationships and are both pretending very hard not to have feelings about it. Maybe they’re in a mutual yearning situation where neither will admit it. I’d be happy with a resolution where they actually get together and admit their feelings, or a more open ending where things remain unresolved between them. But I’d also enjoy a simpler, unambiguous take on their relationship where they openly love and appreciate each other. For plot ideas, it would be fun to see them on an away mission together, or working together to solve some sort of alien culture-related mystery.
Star Trek: The Next Generation
I love every classic Star Trek plot – stranded on an alien planet, weird temporal paradoxes, perception-manipulating aliens, etc. I am always a fan of putting these characters in situations. But I also love to see bits of their everyday lives, how they connect with each other, and what they mean to each other, and I love any exploration of alien cultures. Expansion on the tensions and disagreements in any of these relationships is welcome, but I’d also enjoy a lighter, fluffier story too.
Fandom-Specific DNWs
- Portrayal of the Maquis as entirely unjustified (some moral ambiguity is fine)
Specific Prompts
Ro/Deanna: They have so much potential to have an interesting dynamic. I’d equally enjoy a sweet, romantic take on their relationship, or something messier and less well-defined where they have trouble with each other but are still drawn to each other. There’s some interesting stuff that could be explored with Deanna’s empathic abilities. Does Deanna being able to read emotions make Ro feel uncomfortable, and how does it affect their relationship? If you want to set this after season 7, how does Deanna feel about Ro joining the Maquis? It would be super interesting if they dated on Enterprise before Ro left and meet again as exes on opposite sides of a conflict. Or if you’d like to write something lighter, it would be fun to see them do recreational activities together, maybe a Holodeck program where they get physically close to each other and it leads to realizations.
Guinan/Deanna: I’m fascinated by the potential of their relationship. They have a lot in common with their roles on the ship (counsellor and unofficial advice giver/listener), so it could be fun to see them relate to each other through that. They both project such a strong image of emotional stability most of the time, so it could also be interesting to see them struggle with an emotionally challenging situation that threatens that stability. What sorts of tensions and disagreements might arise between them? Plot idea: aliens take over Enterprise by putting the crew in some sort of dream/trance/etc. and Deanna and Guinan are the only ones able to break out of it. Now it’s up to them to save the ship.
Guinan/Ro: I love their canon dynamic so much! They both have a lot of trauma from their pasts, and I’d love to see exploration of that and how they relate to each other through it. It feels like Guinan understands Ro in a way most people don’t. Does Ro like being understood, or does it make her uncomfortable? It would also be interesting to see a situation where Guinan is made vulnerable and how Ro reacts to that. I’d enjoy a wide variety of interpretations of this ship. Maybe they have a casual relationship and aren’t sure if they want more. Maybe Ro develops feelings for Guinan but believes she doesn’t have a chance. Maybe their relationship is temporary and it ends when Ro leaves to join the Maquis. Do they both accept that, or do they have deep regrets? Maybe they get a second chance and meet again post-canon.
Star Trek: Voyager
What I love about Voyager is the contrasting coziness and bleakness of its premise – these characters that become so close through being stranded so far from home. Light-hearted explorations of these relationships are welcome, but so are stories with more angst, focusing on the characters’ loneliness, trauma, uncertainty, etc., and how they both connect to and struggle with each other. Anything exploring the contrasts and parallels between these characters or the ways in which each of them is in different ways a perpetual outsider would be great.
Fandom-Specific DNWs
- Any of the following canon relationships currently being together during the fic (as a past relationship is fine): Seven/Chakotay, B’Elanna/Tom, Kes/Neelix
- Portrayal of the Maquis as entirely unjustified (some moral ambiguity is fine)
- References to Seven of Nine with the name “Annika Hansen” (unless referring to her as a child before being assimilated)
- Describing B’Elanna’s personality as being a certain way because she is Klingon (for example, statements like “B’Elanna is angry all the time because she is Klingon”)
Specific Prompts
Seven/B’Elanna: I love their dynamic! I’d equally enjoy a sweet take on their relationship where they come to a place of mutual acceptance and understanding, or a messier take where they struggle with each other and yet are drawn together anyway. Any stressful/dramatic situation that forces them to confront their feelings for each other is always welcome. I love stories that emphasize the parallels between them – their struggles with their identities, their relationship with their humanity and their alienness, their lack of feeling true belonging (“outcasts together”). I also love humorous takes on their relationship – their arguments are so ridiculous sometimes and it’s a lot of fun. Story ideas: the two of them are forced to work together on some type of project after having a massive argument, B’Elanna is injured and Seven has to take care of her – neither is thrilled about this.
Kes/B’Elanna: It’s tragic to me that these two interacted so little in canon because I think they could have gotten along so well. I think B’Elanna would be really drawn to Kes’s kindness and lack of judgement, and Kes would value B’Elanna’s strong sense of morality and loyalty. When other people often automatically view B’Elanna as difficult to deal with and relate to, I think Kes would get along with her super well. I like the idea of combining their contrasting personalities. It would be fun to see them doing science experiments together, combining Kes’ biology interest with B’Elanna’s technological knowledge. Maybe they accidentally build some sort of Frankenstein-like creature together and have to deal with the consequences.
Kes/Seven: I think these two could have had such a fun dynamic. Any AU where Kes stays on Voyager after Seven comes onboard would be great. They’re very different from each other, but they have some commonalities in terms of their unusual perspectives on life. I think they’d be drawn to each other’s openness and honesty. I’d love to see these two developing a relationship where they both encourage each other’s weirdness, and Kes defends Seven’s autonomy to the rest of the crew the way she did with the Doctor. Plot ideas: Seven and Kes attempt to host a party together for the entire crew, the two of them accidentally shrink themselves down to a tiny size and have to figure out how to fix it.
Kes/Seven/B’Elanna: Any of my ideas for the individual pairings would be extremely welcome here too. It would be interesting to see how Kes’s continued presence on Voyager might change B’Elanna and Seven’s dynamic. Any adventures the three of them get up to, or just a snippet of how they might interact with each other in a regular everyday situation would be amazing.
